We are currently seeking an Intern to work in our Procurement department. This individual should be concentrating his/her studies in mechanical, electrical, civil engineering or construction management. This is a part-time opportunity, working out of our McLean, Virginia office, with the potential to grow into a full-time position. This opportunity will allow individuals to gain valuable experience in the international construction industry, specifically in the construction of U.S. Government projects overseas. 


Assists the Procurement Engineering Design Manager on all US material procurement efforts for multiple projects. 


  • Assist in the preparation of project deliverables and preparation of RFQ packages
  • Tracks the status of requisitions, contracts, orders, and shipments
  • Contacts suppliers in order to schedule or expedite deliveries and to resolve shortages, missed or late deliveries, and other problems
  • Prepares, maintains, and reviews procurement files and reports
  • Maintains and updates portfolio of approved suppliers
  • Develop and maintain supplier, subcontractor, and client relations
  • Copy, scan, and file invoices and other engineering documents
  • Performs any other related duties as assigned




  • Enrolled in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil) or Construction degree program from an accredited institution
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected
  • Excellent computer skills, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent planning, organizational, verbal and written communication skills
  • Works independently
  • Ability to multitask
  • Courteous, professional, diplomatic.  High level of confidentiality
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States



Reaching above and below, stooping and bending.  Lifting/carrying/moving 1 to 15 pounds of weight in the form of paper, boxes, files, etc.  Manual dexterity to operate office equipment, filing, and perform specialized skills.  Requires a high degree of concentration in a busy office environment.


WORKING CONDITIONS: Office environment.  Flexibility with hours is required.
